How to choose the right plan
- Light use — maps, messaging and browsing — needs about 1 GB per day.
- Heavy use — social video, streaming or hotspotting a laptop — plan for 2-3 GB per day or pick the largest plan.
- Match the validity to your trip length, with a day or two of buffer for delays.
How activation works
- Buy the plan and receive your eSIM by email within minutes.
- Install it from your phone settings while still at home — no store visit, no plastic SIM.
- Land in Afghanistan, enable the eSIM line, and you are online before leaving the airport.
All Afghanistan eSIM plans
Hamid Karzai International is a bad place to discover that roaming is off and the airport Wi-Fi wants a local number. Install a travel eSIM before you fly and you can message a driver and open a map while you are still in the arrivals hall.
Roshan and AWCC kiosks exist in Kabul if you later want a local number; they are an ID errand, not a landing-day task. Qualitative city coverage is enough for maps and calls in the capitals — do not expect the same signal on a district road.
