Kenya Wildlife Service parks — Amboseli, Nakuru, Tsavo — take conservation fees on kwspay.ecitizen.go.ke (card or M-Pesa) and a ranger scans the slip. Masai Mara National Reserve is Narok County’s own window. Samburu is another county again. A driver who “includes park fees” should tell you which desk they paid. Generate the e-slip on hotel Wi-Fi, not at a gate with no signal.

International cards fail often enough on park portals that regulars keep a Safaricom SIM and a small M-Pesa float. Paybill flows need the booking reference as the account. Airtel coverage drops at some Amboseli and Mara gates. Existing M-Pesa advice for matatus still applies: the country’s rails are a phone number, not a swipe that always works in the bush.
