This Georgia is the Caucasus country, not a US state. Tbilisi is sulphur-bath steam, balconied houses in Sololaki, and a food culture that treats a guest as a temporary relative. The lari (GEL) is the currency. English works in the capital's tourism layer; a gamarjoba still opens the bakery. Bolt is how you cross town when the hills win.
Wine here is not a tasting-room extra. Qvevri clay vessels and amber (skin-contact) whites are a Kakheti day trip or an overnight in Sighnaghi or Telavi.
